Keeping Makeup Simple: The Best of the Best

I really like keeping makeup simple. Younger people don’t need makeup, and older people look better with less makeup. Makeup is aging. Plus, I like the natural beauty look. The enhancing, but not painting over and changing facial structure. If you are like me – enjoy the natural look – you will really like this post.

I also enjoy having minimal clutter. Makeup is something that can clutter counters and cabinets fast. The above pictures are my two favorite ways to store makeup.

For me, keeping makeup minimal, it’s about being content with what you have. If you do not have the longest lashes, you can try 20 mascaras, but they will not change that fact. It is great to have a variety of shadows and lipsticks and perhaps blushes (if it doesn’t clog your skin), but outside of that, one liquid liner and one mascara is enough. It is like having two potato smashers. Some things, it only makes sense to have one.

Here are the makeup that I highly, highly recommend so that you won’t have to try 101 brands to find quality products.

  1. I’ve pared it down to 5 steps after I moisturize my clean face

    -1 primer (especially eye lids)
-2 concealer on lids, under eyes, around red nose patches, lightly on lips and lately one the apples of my cheeks.

-3 Fill in eyebrows if they are light. I skip mascara, but mascara is step #3
-4 Blush or cream rouge the apples of your cheeks
-5 Lipstick, one color Use a lip gloss only in the middle of lower lip
